Saturday, 22nd February saw URBOND organised it’s 1st Community Basketball Tournament for 2020. The aim of this tournament is to engage our community members in to fitness and sporting activities. All funds raised would go towards the Child Education Programme.
8 teams participated at this year’s tournament with 55 players taking part. Over 45 basketball fans turned out to watch the games. Big name teams in the city such as Tres Basketball and Chichester Knights weren’t left out at this fundraising tournament as they seek to promote the basketball within communities.
The teams had 2 pools of 4 teams each with the winners of each pool heading straight to the finals and the 2nd place teams to the 3rd place game.

- The Embers (4pts)
- Hot Shots (9pts)
Pool B
- M.E Buckets (0pt)
- Team Evil (9pts)
- Uni & Friends (3pts)
- Tres basketball (6pts)
For the 3rd place, Tres Basketball (22pts) defeated The Embers (9pts) to grab the bronze medal.
The Finals was a very close game but Team Evil edged past Hot Shots. Final scores 15pts to 14pt with Team Evil grabbing the gold medal and the 2020 1st Community Basketball Tournament Winners Prize. MVP Award went to Tom Smith from Team Evil.
